Rave Review: Europe Essentials Tour with Globus

Tom and Molly B., clients of Senior Travel Consultant Ashley Curry, recently returned home from an 11-day European tour with Globus. The couple celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary by traveling through Italy, Switzerland, France, and the United Kingdom. Keep reading to hear about their European Getaway!

ROME

Their journey started in Rome with a guided tour of the city's historic center and Vatican City. They had time to explore most of Rome's must-see attractions like the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, Colosseum, and St. Peter's Square Basilica. The couple also got their first taste of European espresso and pastries, which they happily indulged in throughout their whole trip!

FLORENCE

The couple's next stop was Florence, where they enjoyed another guided sightseeing tour with Globus. They experienced the city's beautifully unique architecture at sites like the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and the Baptistery of St. John. They also visited the Academy of Fine Arts where they saw Michelangelo's masterpiece, David. And of course, no trip to Italy is complete without some authentic pizza!

VENICE

Their last destination in Italy was Venice, where they had free time to explore the canals and refresh with an aperol spritz. After dinner at a local restaurant, Tom and Molly rode a private water taxi through the Grand Canal.

SWITZERLAND

The next country on their European tour was Switzerland. The couple took an elevator ride up to the Courtyard of Castelgrande where they enjoyed food, drinks, and an amazing view of the Swiss Alps. Tom and Molly had even more beautiful views on their scenic drive through the alps and the St. Gotthard pass en route to Lucerne. Their Switzerland adventure had a perfect ending with a rainbow over the Chapel Bridge.

PARIS

The couple rode a high-speed train to their next stop, Paris. Tom and Molly got to celebrate their 45th anniversary in Paris at the Eiffel Tower. Thanks to their Brentwood Travel advisor, Ashley, they were the only couple in their group who actually went in it! They also did an excursion to Versailles to visit the spectacular gardens.

LONDON

Tom and Molly were very thankful they decided to add London to their tour, which was optional. They stayed at Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, where they had an amazing view of Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. The couple visited the Borough Market where they marveled at the local artisan food on display. They also took a riverboat past some of London's most iconic landmarks.

Tom and Molly were thrilled with their Globus tour. They had an excellent tour guide, Simona, who encouraged interaction among the 24 individuals in the group. Before the trip, they were a little worried about how the group dynamic would work out, but they had no problems. Tom said "the group of people we traveled with were really great people. Everyone got along, and everyone looked out for one another. Kind of a family vibe by the end of the tour."

Tom and Molly's Number One Tip: Do Your Research! While Globus does a great job of planning your trip and activities, you will have breaks from the group to do whatever you want. Before your trip, look up the cities you will be visiting to see what you can do during that time. Your Brentwood Travel advisor can help you plan out your free time, so you don't miss any of your bucket list items!
