Rave Review: Dreams Royal Beach in Punta Cana

Leisure travel advisor, Allison Roth, recently sent some of her clients to Dreams Royal Beach in Punta Cana. They had a wonderful trip and couldn't say enough positive things about working with Allison to plan their family vacation! From raving about the sparkling pools and delicious dining to the private beachside cabana that made their trip, it's clear this family found their slice of paradise. Her clients call the resort "beautiful" with "comfy" rooms, "friendly staff," and an overall amazing vacation they "would go back to in a heartbeat." Curious about what exactly made this trip so magical for the family? Keep reading this rave review to find out!

Hotel
"Dreams Royal Beach was so beautiful! The grounds were well kept and the rooms were clean and comfy. The pools were sparkling and the staff was very friendly. I’m glad we did Preferred because we enjoyed the Preferred pool, bars, and restaurants. We really only used the preferred pool & bars, and we ate at the Seaside quite a bit, but we also ate at Portofino, Oceana (the kids loved the surf & turf), Beach BBQ, Seaside Grill, and Fusion. We had our butler make reservations for us for three of the nights and it really worked out well. There are lots of reviews saying the food wasn’t great, but we liked it very much (and none of us had any stomach issues) - besides, a week of not cooking or worrying about food was the best!"

Bars/Entertainment
"The Beach Party & the Beach BBQ were really fun! The other shows were a little corny and boring, so we didn’t stay for those. We went to the Sports Bar a few times and played pool and we did karaoke, which was really fun! Madi & Sam went to the Secrets disco, and Jeff and I went to the casino for a little bit - it was okay, but nothing fancy (we’re not really gamblers). "

"Just a note for those traveling with older teens who may want to enjoy a cocktail or two…they do card at some bars at DRB, but there are no wristbands. Our older two went to Secrets a couple times, but our 17 year old was not allowed in (which we knew), but they were really strict about it."

Cabana / Beach
"A must-do! This was the highlight of our trip - they all have a great view. We did 2 days and it was the right amount of time. Our attendant was JD both days and he was bringing us drinks around the clock - as well as food/snacks. Definitely worth the money. We also brought some card games with us and played them at the beach."

"We got chairs at the preferred beach one morning - I think you have to go very early to get chairs, though. We went down by 8am and put our towels on a few and that was fine. But we were happy we didn’t need to do that the other two days since we had the cabana. There were water-sports there, but we didn’t do those. We also didn’t do any excursions because we wanted to relax at the resort."

General Area
"We felt very safe at the resort, and on our beach. There were a lot of beach vendors who were on the beach (within the resort chairs), but they were all very kind and not pushy. We enjoyed talking with them (most of them). There were some closer to the water who were a little pushier. We also walked down the beach a bit and that area was less clean and very crowded, so I’d definitely avoid that area. It was also a tiny bit sketchy seeming compared to our resort."

"We definitely could have brought more cash for tips, we generally tipped all of our bartenders, our butler, our wait staff, and our cabana attendant). They really appreciated it and gave us special attention (I think because of the tips). Overall, we have nothing bad to say about DRB - we’d go there again in a heartbeat! Allison was also very helpful and we appreciate all of her hard work, we will plan to book our next all-inclusive trip with her again!"
