TSA Precheck and Liquids Policies

TSA PreCheck:

Tired of waiting in airport security lines? Now you can skip ahead with the TSA Precheck program at More than 200 airports and 73 airlines. This expedited service allows you to go through airport security without removing your shoes, laptops, 3-1-1 liquids, belts or light jackets. To qualify, you must: 

1) Apply online and schedule an appointment at an enrollment center.
2) Partake in a background check.
3) Have your KTN (Known Traveler Number) added to your plane ticket.

Gaining PreCheck status also requires an $85 membership fee that's good for 5 years. To start your application process and to find out more information, please visit the TSA website here. 

​Carry-On and Checked Liquids:

You are allowed to bring a quart-sized bag of liquids, aerosols, gels, creams and pastes through the checkpoint. These are limited to 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less per item. Placing these items in the small bag separate from your carry-on baggage facilitates the screening process. Pack items larger than 3.4 ounces or 100 milliliters in checked baggage.

Any liquid, aerosol, gel, cream or paste that alarms during screening will require additional screening.
